Rustic Wedding at the Skansen
How many true stories of love and hope do you know? I mean the real ones, the ones that actually happened, not those with a scripted scenario that’s meant to tug at your heartstrings, but you can feel that they lack truth because someone just created them to make an impression.
Today, we want to tell you a story of true love and real hope through our photos. How can you recognize the truth? Look for it in the gestures, in how they touch each other, in the way they gaze at one another, how much tenderness and emotion there is between them. That’s in the realm of love. And hope? They must have had hope when they were searching for each other in life, hope when they decided to spend their lives together, and hope when they decided to have a wedding in 2020, a year that changed so many plans and complicated things. I’m sure nobody will forget that year: 2020, it surprised and pinched us all quite a bit.
Their wedding was meant to be different. They had planned a grand barn wedding, with lots of guests, an amazing DJ, pomp, and a fairytale-like wedding dream. Then it turned out that not much could happen as planned, leading to a series of doubts: if things can’t be as we want them, should we do it at all? And if we do, how? You know what’s needed then? Hope and love, they help make decisions and answer the question of what’s most important. The answer is always the same: the beloved person. And there are no compromises in that. The compromise can be in decorations, setting, and all the natural circumstances that surround them. So, what happened? That compromise turned out to be ideal for them. The whole event moved to the Skansen in the Lublin Village Museum, could it be more rustic and idyllic? They got married in an old wooden church, where the light was stunning (Kamil is a wedding photographer, for us, light is essential, so I know that light was a gift from above for him). They transformed a small cottage into a big party venue, fed the guests, and offered them a grill party under the open sky. They decided to replace the DJ with a laptop on the floor and danced as if there were no tomorrow. You can do all this when you have these two ingredients: love and hope. I insist on this. It was such a privilege to be with you, Paulina and Kamil, on that day. Despite the sweltering heat, despite it being the nth wedding in a row, despite the fatigue, it was an honor to witness your love. I’m addicted to these two things: hope and love. When I see them in people, magical things happen.
